Lefty or Brian K, whichever, Ron, the tournament boundy has been expanded to the lower section.. We will be fishing from the dam all the way up to Scotts place as the northern cutoff… with cell service so bad up past Scotts place it's not a good idea at this time. We are considering a few different options for next year to open it up all the way north….
But at least we have some more water with the bridge to dam open this year….

Just to add my 2 cents, I continue to believe we should open the entire lake up. One, it sapaces the boats out more but two, there are some nice fish up river that time of year. It is true that both marine band and cell phone service is spotty at best north of my place. However, my suggestion for next year is the morning of the tourney each boat will be given a plackard with a number on it. You then have two options upon boating a fish, either take a digital camera photo of the fish with you holding the numbered plackard or get it personaly verified by another boat…i.e, if you don't have a digital camera or get lucky and find another boat up river you should avoid fishing north of my place. This is sort of like what was proposed to the Hicks team fishing contest that ended up being canceled.

I would love to fish dam to dam also, we did that in the past. The problem was, in some parts of the lake there is no cell phone coverage. Getting a witness to verify a fish could be impossible. It happened in the past and the solution was to limit the amount of water.

Even with the lake open the first two years there were only two fish caught outside the current boundaries.

I'm sure the tournament committee would be open to suggestions on a way to verify catches with the whole lake open for 2006.

So, keep this thread constructive.

One more thing… from on top of my soap box.

Instead of complaining and criticizing the tournament rules/boundaries why not get involved and volunteer a little time to help out with the tournament. Be on the tournament committee and help that committee find a way to resolve any issues. There’s nothing more frustrating then hearing about how things are being done wrong but not getting any help to remedy the situation.

As "assistant tournament diector" (for lack of a better word) helping Don out, I did bring my suggestion up in the past to him. We both thought it was too late to try to implement the rule this year but will try to push for something along the lines I suggested for next year. Of course, if somebody has a better idea of how we might verify fish given the difficulty of communication up river, I'm all ears guys and gals.

Don or Will I'm thinking of taking some time off next year and not fishing any tournaments, I would volunteer and take a digital camera or a camcorder up river and verify fish and I would not be fishing tournament just helping out.Just a thought

Will the boundaries be marked? I believe there were balloons at the north end last year. Being from Indiana, I am not very smart and I do not know where Scott lives (nor would any other outsider).

Thank you in advance… dr
