So far there are 19 that have confirmed for the Sanford outing…to me that sounds like a quorum worthy of grilled meat. So as not to stick Scott with extra food this time around, Ron, Corey and myself have decided to supply dogs, burgers and chips for all who attend. We will plan on cooking at the Sanford Lake Park, south of the hwy 10 bridge…the time we start grilling will be set prior to the 19th (likely to hinge on weather – if it's fishy out, the grillers may have to do an abbreviated cook-and-run luncheon). If you plan on joining us just send Ron a note to ensure yourself rights to vittles and a sweatshirt.

What!? Don't you have a man-portable pizza oven? I'm shocked… 🙄
I'm in, anyway!
Here's a local map of the area that should help everyone make the last couple turns into the park, and covers travelers from E, W, N & S. From the South, Meridian Rd. has new bridge that goes straight through crossing the Tittabawassee that probably doesn't show up on your maps, but trust me it now goes straight through to Saginaw Rd.

Let's plan on 1 pm for the cookout this Saturday at the Sanford Lake Park. It sounds like that time will work well for most involved, and should leave plenty of time for fishing before and after.
There are some folks that will be bringing musky gear for trade or sale…a few nice rods, some lefty calcuttas and lots of lures I'm sure. The prices will be cheap, so bring a little cash and/or a few of your own lures to swap or sell if you like.
A quick fishing report – other than the steady trophy pike and bass, not much for sightings on Sanford lately. Actually that could prove to be a good thing for the outing, since historically a weather change, like is being predicted at the end of the week, puts the fish on a tear after days (…weeks) of blazing sun on Sanford. Water temps got as high as 76 recently…but should be back on their way down now. Despite the weather, two 40+" pike and one fat 51" musky have been caught in the past week by locals…unfortunately none of those are alive for recapture this weekend!
See everyone out there…if you have any questions about where to meet for lunch or whatever give Ron (989 600-5014) or Pete (989 600-0549) a call.
