The MMA outing on Sanford is set for Saturday, September 19th hosted by me and Don Bomba. This will be a very informal, see you on the water, outing unless Will decides to hold the monthly meeting at the park (I will leave it to him to update us on specifics if that is the case). In years past I have supplied lunch for this outing (and Wixom) only to be stuck with a lot of food that nobody was around to eat. If we have a good showing this year I promise to provide burgers and dogs next year as well as plan a lure raffle/swap like we do for the Spring Ovid outing.
The main Sanford launch is at the Midland Co. Park at the far South West shore of the lake. To get there you exit U.S. 10 at the West River Road exit. If you are heading to Sanford on 10 from the East (I-75) you will take a left at the stop sign as you exit. If you are heading in from the West (Clare-127) you will take a right at the stop as you exit. Continue a short time on W. River Road until you see a Catholic Church right off the road on your left. The road leading to the park is the first left past the church and there is signage. I'm not sure what time the park opens that time of year but my bet is it is no later than 7 am. I will advise better on the time as we get closer. I believe that it is $7 to launch (maybe $5) if you don't have a Midland Co. Parks boat pass (this is different than the MI State Park or DNR passes). You can also launch out of the Sanford Lake Marina which is on the East side of the lake roughly midway up the lake.
September is prime time on Sanford so if you were ever going to come out and fish it, this outing would be prime time to do so. For those of you unfamiliar with Sanford it can be difficult to follow the creek channel and there are shallow stumps in places you wouldn't expect (both in shallow and deep water especially if we have an early fall drawdown of the lake level) so take it slow until you get a feel for things and/or see me or one of the other locals for a run down. Unless you are in real skinny water or they have the lake drawn down a lot, you are generally safe once up on plane but it is getting on plane before a collision that can be dicey in places. I hope to see you all there.

Getting married that day… don't think the Fiance' would be to happy if I made that one. Good Luck everyone!!!
Well lets face it, that day you will have a lot of downtime. I mean you have shower, brush your teeth and slap some gell in your hair… 15 mins at the most. There is plenty of time to fish. [smilie=2thumbsup.gif]
Just keep in mine you are the last puzzle in the day she has planned for her whole life. Oh and if everything goes well it will be the best party that you will never do again!
We just had our 10yr on the LCS outting, I stayed home (finished a rod) [smilie=brows.gif]
