The only swim baits Ive used are the Sebile magic swimmer, and the savage gear 4play liplure. Ive caught fish on the savage gear, and had lots of strikes. Pike love them too. I have had hits on the Sebiles, but it seems with both that they get smacked from the side, and not eaten. its like they swipe at it to get it out of their way, and don't want to eat it for some reason.
These expeiences have been the same on Murray and on the upper chain.
Another factor is that I use them to cover shallow water when the weeds are low, and it might be the time of year and location of the fish that adds to their behavior??? someone much wiser than me might shed light on this (not spawning fish either FYI)
Maybe the extra size/profile will add some weight to these and not get knocked out of the way as easily???
personally ive had the same experiences, with kickin minnows etc.. i just wanted to try something new..
Ive seen other people say the River 2 Sea baits area great, but they are also fishing wisconsin lakes that are far less pressured, and are darker lakes.. similar to canadian shield lakes, which would probably produce more stirkes..
Since i fish murray a lot like jason said, i prob will wait and just work more jerk/twitch baits along with all the bulldawgs/super D's and whatever else during the year.
I just wanted honest opinions from people. 34 dollars for a swim bait is a little much to drop on a lure, that might not produce nearly what a 10-14 dollar lure will produce for me consistently
