The Revo was starting to act up so I took the time to break it down and clean it. I have included a few pics, and have zounds more of the job, it was the first time I have had this reel apart since I bought it and is into its 2nd season.

Found water contamination throughout:

All cleaned up ready for assembly.

Lessons learned from my first cleaning, first is to not wait 2 seasons to break my reels down. Water contamination broke the grease down and the also affected the reel performance. I was surprised how much water was inside the reel, almost like it had been submerged in water.

2nd keep track of the parts and the assembly of the reel very closely.

I would be willing to provide further info and pics if anyone has a Toro reel or if anyone is just curious.

Learning experience, and am planning on doing my Toro 50 next.

Maybe create a section for rod/reel/lure//boat cleaning/modification/repairs?

Here is a favorite type of picture, tooth marked lure type:

Don't be afraid to send reels back, Pure Fishing just hooked me up with two brand new reels in less than a week for no cost. One reel needed an anti-reverse bearing and the other had a thumb bar issue. I was real happy with their service.

Steve, Abu Garcia, Penn, and Berkley are all under Pure Fishing. There might be more names under Pure Fishing, the reels I sent back were Abu's. On the receipt it says Pure Fishing.

On my revo 60 I'm having trouble with tension on the cast control knob.I can't seem to get it tight enough when I throw heavy baits or on windy conditions. It's not the centrifugal weights snapped on the retainer pins, it's the initial tension. It was bought this spring, with average use, so not a lot of wear. I plan on taking it apart and cleaning this fall, but I don't think that's the problem. I may have to send it in too.

Are you talking about the gold adjustment knob?
