This is for those of you who cut hooks, beit away from fish or to add split rings to lures.
Do you have a favorite/suggested brand and type? Is there a reason for it?
I have always used the eagle claw 4X's, which seem not to stay as sharp as some of the hooks already on the lures, I did say some of the hooks.
I am putting together my season prep. order and was just curious if I was missing the boat by staying with the same hooks.

Pimp,
I have been using the Gamakatsu 4x trebles (black nickel). They are pricey but I really like them and they are oh so sharp.

Remember the balance.I try to keep hooks pretty close as far as size/weight.

Good point. Replacing trebles of a different size/weight can kill the action of a lure. But sometimes it makes the action better.
