No, he's angry because the MI DNR proposed a statewide catch and immediate release season that would include St Clair. He believes I am responsible for proposing catch and immediate release on St Clair, regardless of how many times I have explained the regulation process and exactly what MMA asked for.
Prior to this i had been thinking about unfollowing Mike on Facebook due to his arrogant posts about "idiot" fisherman that weren't as skilled as he was and his borderline racist posts about crime in the Detroit area but this attack made the decision easy. The guys gives no ** you do not have permission to see this link ** about the resource other than the money he can make from it. He's only on St. Clair because it's the hot spot right now, he'll move again if and when another lake starts jumping. I hired him once to fish Webster and only learned how to blindly cast his short lived Shadillac to 2 spots on the whole lake. I actually defended him a long time ago on muskie first and feel like an a$$hole for doing it.
Don't feel dumb.. For hiring him. Others I know hired him and feel the same as you do now. Truly…he's not that great. Let that sink in! My previous post didn't somehow grab all my text but if anyone needs or wants to hire a LSC Guide there is no reason to go outside of MMA. Eric Grajewski is an amazing guide both Fly and Gear. Don't be intimated by feeling like you can't book a day or trip with him because your not a "fly fisherman". Eric is beyond "dialed in" out there always and will totally put the fly rods down when needed. Not too mention anyone that wants to learn how to Fly Fish he can truly help teach you if you desire. I've fished with Eric and can tell ya he's a great guy, awesome fly/gear angler and I've learned a few things from him no doubt. Don't get hung up on big names of guides on LSC. Look at guys like Eric who will always find fish. He's determination is amazing on the water and frankly if I recall he was the only LSC Guide who has spoke the truth of how the entire regulations went down and backed MMA based on the truth. Some of the LSC guides make me sick!! Funny to see them all complain and if regs change it'll be funny to see them all out there in April/May targeting Muskies, BUT they are totally against it!! Lol!!

The LSC guys are starting a petition against CIR. Right now, the link pointed to in the post above is broken, so I don't know how their petition reads, or whether it's against CIR statewide, or just for LSC…

I think the traffic on this petition page is pretty indicative of the mentality of the rest of the musky world. They have all been invited to the discussion, they have been updated on the process, and they have been asked to engage. They did not respond to the discussion when we asked for input until their baby (LSC) had a potential change. They didn't read any of the updates or show up to a single meeting throughout the entire process. And they didn't engage until it was something that may or may not effect their baby. This petition was the first time most of the guys who signed it even knew there were changes being made, despite the months of meetings in the spring, and us asking them for help/input.
Then a few guys playing superhero showed up to one NRC meeting each, after a couple years worth of conversations, appalled. Their minions applauded from afar, happy their life wasn't further inconvenienced. None showed up before, and none will show up after. Also, I haven't heard a peep since the last meeting. Conversation has died, and until the threat of "immediate action" is again heard they will go back to their own little holes, and not think about anything but themselves, until the spearing debate again rears its ugly head. Then they will spend another 2 hours of their life yelling at everyone but themselves, and maybe a week sulking in self pity.
It is unfortunate that this was the response from groups like MOMC, LSC chapter of M.I., Muskies Inc, and the charter boat captains group. It couldn't be more apparent that their only is concern is selfish, and that muskies throughout the entire range are inconsequential.
It also makes me pretty happy that I can affiliate myself with a conservation group that actually gives a darn about a resource, not just how they can take advantage of that resource… and if you didn't pick up on it, that group is MMA!
They are ridiculous! Most of that group of LSC guys suck as people. Eric G is awesome but the rest like Hulbert and Quintano are cry babies and think they are fish gods. They can catch 1 species of fish on the best Muskie fishery in the world…shocker. I can't stand either of them and they both know it. Problem is that other people get so hung up on wanting to catch fish that they pay these idiots money to catch them fish. Not trying to insult anyone but their actions should by now make any of us aware that they truly don't have the Muskies or Clients best interest in mind on the water. Both are fish junkies that get people to pay them so they can go catch fish for themselves or "the boat." They are rude on and off the water and I can't stand seeing them on the water. Kinda ruins my day. I hope people and their clients wake up and realize what they are really paying on the water. Mike will put you in danger anytime there's a lightening storm and keep the boat casting. If more people like us expose them then maybe they would wake up and learn they need to change who they really are as people and become better men of society. Are they really respectable in the fishing world?I'm sorry….I meant strictly "Muskie" world cause that's all they got. We need WAY less guides on LSC! It's starting to get insane!
