Awesome baits for all the different ways to trigger fish to eat. Terrible for keeping them hooked in my experience so far with them. I think between Matt and I, we have lost 8 or 9 fish over 46" on them. We have hooked them jigging, popping them through the weeds, and just plain ripping them back to the boat as fast as possible. I haven't given up on them yet. I just keep sharpening the hooks more and more, and practicing my hook-sets down in the basement. 🙄

Jim,What hook connfiguration are you using. I was thinking of the two single hooks but am concerned now if hooking fish seems to be a problem.
BOB
Yes, Bob. Those are the hooks that we have lost all the fish on. I literally haven't landed a single one yet on it. I was thinking that was part of the problem. I've seen the muskies coming up to the boat with the hooks jambed into the top of their snout. They always seem to eat it right next to the leader. The single hooks are pretty thick, thus making a good hookset a must. But, if you go to the trebles, it's a little tougher to let the lure drop down into deep weeds, and pop it out clean. Catch 22…. I've since added 1 treble to the lure. I made a short "leader" type of trailer and attached that to the rear single hook. Haven't been able to get out much in the past 2 months to really give it a try yet.
