i dont think we as a club really want people to quit or shut up just because they were just born or havent been involved in things do we? 😕 there has been issues with sanford and wixom on this forum many times, personally i dont think a sanford tournament is best for the club, because of tha low turn out not because its my water or anybody elses water for that matter.
i can say i have learned alot about muskie fishing and muskies in general from this club, and the things i have been to have been good times, but i just cant agree with telling people to quit, maybe the moderators are right it might be time to quit 👿
Ron-
In a word no-
But non-constructive criticism really does not do any good. There are a few people that do all the work. There are a few more that do some, and a whole lot more who complain no matter what the outcome. Involvement and leadership are needed if this club is to survive. Otherwise all we have is a forum that cost 35 dollars a year to be on. The involvement I soeak of needs to be in all forms, yes we need people to do "work" but we also need people to support the events that are put on. Maybe a person doesn,t want to fish in the tournament on Ovid, but in the interest of supporting the club they should consider it anyway and maybe do a little recruiting while they are there. I personally don't like fishing Sanford, but I have been there the last two years to support the club. Myself and Dave put on an outing this spring where all people had to do was get there everything was paid for except your room. Only 22 people showed up, why is that? I have no idea. Since it was on a lake known to produce big fish, it was "up north" it was almost prime time for the region and only the same few people that are at every event were there. The two fish that were caught were 48 and 46.5 you can't get that everywhere.
Back to your original question NO! but a little input would be nice even if it is Hey I like this idea but here is why I won't/didn't show up. That would allow us to accomodate in the future. We don't know why outings fail or tournaments all we know is that they do and it is very frustrating when you put a lot of work into something that people say they want and no one shows. The current thread you refer to is the prime example.

i agree there are few people that do alot of the work, and my hats of to them.i think this is a great club with some great people and some cri
ticism is good for all but not telling people just to quit!!!
ok getting of that subjuct me personally i would love to make every outing and fish every day but i cant, speaking on my behalf if i say ill be there il be there.
i guess what im trying to say is this is a good club and we do need more particapation including myself to grow
Well Ron,
I’ll fish Ovid with ya, catch some fish, raise some hell….haha
I know, I just wish we could all get along. Like Rodney king said. But if something rubs someone the wrong way, they have every right to respond, and to get back a response. And if people talk junk, they should be prepared to back it up or have the facts covered, I think everyone has a case, so we'll let it be for now. Although the quit whining thing don't sit well since I have offered help with fund raising, offering stuff from my store to raffle off or auction off for larger proceeds. I work 45-60 hours a week with school, i dont have time do put in work for the club, if i could i would. People in charge are doing a great job. i fished murray for 1st time today and loved it. Since i dont have time to put in for 90% of events or jobs in the club, i would be up for contributing more for stocking efforts. I think as a complete joint effort we could raise a lot of money in the off season. lets all brainstorm and see what we can come up with.
Since I am getting closer to graduation, I will keep applying for jobs in Detroit, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and grand rapids..lol And try to be near better muskie waters.
Will, were u on murray early this morning? Thought i seen your boat.

Hey Guys, why can't we just all be friends?????? It's all about the baby Muskies isn't it? That's the reason I joined this club, to improve stocking of the lakes that I like to fish closer to home. Many of you guys spend BIG BUCKS to fish out of state on a regular basis, new lures, boats, etc. What's a little trip to Ovid – lots of Muskies to catch with a change of scenery (beautiful at that!!!!) See Ya at Ovid, Queenfisher P.S. is Dave making the burgers again, great food!!!!
