Does anyone know which lakes in the L.P. have the highest density of ski's? I usually fish Sanford and I am pretty sure I remember hearing that it had a very low number. Thinking about getting out this weekend and taking my brother who is a newbie. Trying to stay fairly close to home, live in Freeland. Ovid be the best bet? Thanks in advance
J
Your best chances at seeing a muskie given the weather this weekend are:
1. Budd
2. Ovid
3. Tittabawassee from Sanford to Dow
4. Smallwood
5. Secord
6. Wixom
7. Sanford
Your best chance at catching one might be more like:
1. Ovid
2. Titt
3. Smallwood
4. Secord
5. Budd
6. Wixom
7. Sanford
No guarantees here, just my guesses!
Its too shallow in some long stretches between Sanford & Dow, so you can't run your outboard up and down the whole thing. But there is also another boat ramp right by the golf course off Currie Parkway in Midland. And its not that the river is just full of muskies, but more like the ones there are concentrated in the few holes, including those downstream of Dow Dam too.
