Anyone have any tips for keeping the prism tape from starting to peel off of grandma's or really any bait after short use?

I assume some type of epoxy could work?

If so what do people suggest?

Yup epoxy is the best bet that I know of. Envirotex Lite is what I use, but maybe all of our baitmakers are on to some other good clear coat??

Duke do you just cover the edges of the tape or do a layer over all of it?

I agree, EnviroTex is probably best because it isn't going to be as thick as some others and a heavy coat may change action (maybe not a bad thing in some cases). You could simply brush it on and let run off turning the lure over a few times to keep it generally even (be sure to tape over the lip). Putting it in some type of turner works best to keep it even but if you're just looking to add a protective layer over the tape the above method should be fine.

Any tips on what to use to brush it on?

Or a small brush will work?

Yup agree with Will’s method, you can just brush a thin coat on and hang it- knowing that it is going to slowly drip/drag down before it cures and you might need another thin coat.

I like a clear coat over the whole bait. Gives Grandmas a little extra weight too which I like. I like the pointed foam brushes but any cheap diposable brush will work- any streaks or lines the brush leaves should smooth out before the epoxy cures.

The stuff is great for sealing up and preventing further hook wear on wooden baits too. Very handy tool for experienced (top producer) baits!
