Later this month and later early fall, Im going to be spending some time ,and staying on a Island; Grape Island north of Drummond Island in Potagannissing bay.
My question is, Any club members have any time on Potagannissing bay chasing skis?
My plan is to concentrate my efforts between Bald Island and Harbour Island north to burnt Island around the areas where the locals fish for cisco.
This Is big water and I know it contains big fish The bay is bordered by the North channel of Georgian bay and to the north west by The st-mary's river channel…..The folks Im staying with just chase Ciscoe { The other white meat 😈 Laugh }….

It's one of those mythical spotted cisco, the largest of the freshwater herring.

If you see that guy in the pic while you're there, tell him to go back to Wisconsin.

Todd, like anywhere else in that system in the summer concentrate on any cabbage you find. Especially any bullrushs that have a deep edge. but Will's right. Ain't no big fish there.

We have gone up to Drummond Island for the last 14 years. I have not seen or heard of a muskie in that part of the bay( Not to say there aren't any). We fish it in August, after the cisco run. If I was targeting muskie I would fish Munuscong bay or Lake George below the locks. That area between Harbor and Bald Island can be good for pike at times. From the people we have taked to most of the action is on the Munuscong Bay side. Note: Potaganasing bay to Munuscong Bay is a fairly long run ( fuel prices). P. M. me for more info if you are staying at Drummond.

fished in and around the ciscoe schools one year in July with big plans and never even saw a pike. Moved into the shallows and caught lots of small pike. I would think if you are targeting muskies you would think about Raber Bay and Lime Island!! That is just based on the people I talk to that fish those areas and the 44 lbder that once graced the walls of Hick's Tackle Shop. Don't look past the reeds!!!!

That fish was caught on a walleye jig under a bobber one Memorial Day. If its the one I'm thinking about ………..guy named Ron caught it. I believe it is now in the Raber Bar.
