This is hard for me to write, I should have written this a month ago when I found out. I have a legion below my left eye, a bi-op was done and it is skin cancer. Oct 5th I go into the U of M hosptial and they will cut this out, take skin from my upper eye lid and from behind my ear to do a graph. They will then sew my eyelids together for 3 to 4 weeks. They don't want me to drive, use power tools(work), so I guess I will be off work for that time. They said my depth perception will be way off. So I guess my fishing season is coming to a screeching halt, until ice fishing. I am fair complexed and have always burned easy. To you guy's and gal's out there fair complexed or even the ones that get a tan. Please lather up with sun screen and wear a wide brimed hat, yes you might look like a dufus, but you won't have to go thru what I will. To lighten this up, I will have a eye patch on for Halloween, so I can be a pirate, ARRRRRRRR MATEEES!!!!! Was at Webster Tue after Labor day, got a 39.5 and 31. Saw a fish in the water, thought it was a railroad tie at first, but then it started moving. Had to be 50++, couldn't get it to bite. Saw another one with it's head out of the water with a 14 or 15 inch fish in it's mouth. Folks PLEASE be careful out there.

Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us. I wish you luck with the procedure and know that you will be back out there chasing Muskies before you know it.

Good luck with this Steve. Fortunately, they have treatment for skin cancer pretty well figured out but I'm sure it's still a scary deal. We'll all keep you in our thoughts for a quick recovery.

Thanks for the heads up Steve. Best of the luck with the procedure and a speedy recovery! You just gave me more reason to use sunscreen.
