I was thinking about getting some Yellow birds for trolling some out lines. What do you guys think about the yellow birds. Or what do you guys use? And can you run sliders on the yellow birds. And do you use weight to trim out the yeelow brid.

Thanks LeMay OUT

Yellow birds will pull only the smallest muskie baits out, and not at very high speeds. Go with their larger model, the Big Bird planers. Being the biggest, these do the best job of any in-line, and their releases (Osprey) are also the best in my experience if you are using super braid. I have not had any reason to use weight on the front of the board to trim it down, and also do not use any sliders, not sure if that wouldn't get pretty messy.

So if I wanted to run sliders I would have to go with a larger planer board like the ones Kingfisher makes?

If you're going to run sliders you would only want to do it where you aren't allowed two rods/person and on BIG water. Just getting one rod out with a slider on a big board takes about a minute (if it's calm).

If you're considering fishing water like St Clair then I would suggest buying a mast and a set of Talonz boards.

So how tall of a mask would work best for Talonz boards?

Thanks LeMay OUT
