I think it might be necessary to cancel the Ovid outing due to hot water. I was hoping that there would be some relief this week but it doesn't look good. Water temps in the 80's means dead fish if they're not handled perfectly. We've worked too hard to educate anglers for us to set a bad example by holding an outing with water temps this high. Most summers we would be OK but this summer is just too hot.
Maybe we just make it a bass fishing outing. There are some BIG bass in Ovid that really like to eat at night.
Thoughts??

Right! I fished Ovid for 12 hours on Saturday. Water temps were high, 79 at 6am and climbed to 82.5 by 4-5pm. Caught three smaller fish casting in shallower water but I think bigger fish would have had a more difficult time during the release.
Btw, I'll be up at Eagle lake trying to coax a couple of large gals in to eating!
