If anyone wants to fish sunday at thornapple from sometime in the morning to sometime in the afternoon give me a call at 616-308-1342 you can meet me at the south ramp or at my house in wayland. Im very flexible with time. You dont need to pay for gas, you just need to bring rods and your tackle, with the wind factor, Ill probably be trolling most of the time (wich paid off for "The Bruce" since my boat had the winning fish with my bait, haha)we might do some casting also.I have a 17 foot deep-v with plenty of room and does great in the waves..just an offer to anyone that wants to fish without dealing with their boat or doesnt have one.
I think I snagged a sturgeon though. we were trolling in 28 feet of water and my rod bent over, I grabbed it and something peeled line off, then several steady tugs and then nothing, no teath marks on the grandma. So im going with the story that I snagged the Thornapple sturgeon because whatever it was it was huge!!!

I've gotten snagged on something standing tall in about 20' of water at Thorn, too, while trolling. It was NW of Howard's Point, NE of the beach. I though it was Her too, for awhile. It was a sunken log with a branch sticking up 10' or so, I think. Or maybe a sunken sailboat's mast…? 🙄
