Okay, so I know my editing isn't good, but want to know if you guys like the camera on the tripod or on the head. I like the tripod as it isn't shaky at all, but I feel I am going to miss some cool footage at boatside. Also, what do you think of the lunge log thing and would you like to see me talk about what I'm doing that day? Also, I know the bump board part got a little messy so I definitely need to get the chair out of the front.

I like the "sky cam" personally, the viewers are the ones that can really appreciate whats happening in all of the organized chaos that occurs casting. I couldnt give up the follows, strikes up close, misses, and jumps during the fight. The tripod just captures you and the fish after its caught. Ya know? Too much to sacrifice in my opinion.

I really just need to focus on not moving my head so much to make the 'sky cam' not shaky at all. It's just hard as I'm constantly looking at the graph, the trolling motor, other people's lures if im fishing with someone. I totally agree on getting better action shots with the head cam and I know this fall I will get some figure 8 strikes. It would be nice to get another camera that way I can do both.

Thats my vote. There were things I liked about both.
Agree, the head cam should be b-roll with the boat cam being the primary. The boat cam could also be 10' off the floor and looking over your shoulder. I've got plans for the perfect 3 cam set up… Just need to spend the money.
Some sort of wireless microphone would be awesome. I wanted to hear what you had to say, and can't
It shouldn't be hard to sync a separate audio file if you wanted to do a simple voice recorder/mic setup. Depends on if you're doing a high production video for some reason.
The boat cam is awesome, but like everyone I agree that primary cam has to be head cam, it's just more exciting. Gotta get that second gopro.

I totally agree; would be sweet to have the boat cam for the majority of the footage, but then the head cam for exciting strikes, follows, boatside action.
It definitely would be nice to have a set up like that or one similar to Keyes outdoors, but I only have the cheap tripod right now. Maybe it can be a winter project for me.
Don't you still have to do a MMA video on rods, reels, line, leaders, etc before you can start filming on the water?? [smilie=biggrin.gif]
Jason, have you given this a look-see?

Yes. I promise to have it done this winter. I may redo the other too just to give it an update.
When this is my desk every day it makes being excited to do muskie related video a little difficult…

Oh, I have a window… It looks into a studio [smilie=ballchain.gif] I need to leave the room every couple hours so I don't forget what sunlight and people look like…

Nice setup! I just acquired a 27" IMac and was wondering what editing software are you using? I have over 200gb of mostly useless headcam video footage that I need to get organized for a video of this years fishing/hunting and need software.
