I was just informed that we might have another new state record from the Elk Chain. 57.5 pounds. I am trying to find any information on this fish or verification as to its existence?. If its true we have a world class fishery.Mike

Ha Ha Ha , so far it just a rumor. It might have stemmed from a fish that was caught and released up there last week. So far no verification and like Chad says , pretty hard to believe in July. Mike

Nothing but rumor. There was a bigh fish caught that was probably state record class (length) last week but was released. This rumor probably came from that catch.

I don't think the fish caught last week was as big as the fish last fall… It was a beauty for sure, and I would have wet myself, but it wasn't 57 lbs or anywhere near it.
