When I look at the original question. Many answers could serve as an great answers. A new person to this sport would have questions of all kinds. I highly doubt if it is possible to get off topic with this topic.
I agree completely. The deciding factor, in my opinion, is how much to share so that we provide information that is useful but that we're not providing information that should be covered in the members area as a benefit to those that join MMA. I'm thinking the tips page should be our teaser to get people interested in joining but also be educational.

Sorry if I've stepped on any toes, but I guess when I saw this statement, the first thing in my head is how to educate the publicnewcomers. I love discussion as much as the rest of you, but we all know how we tend to gab like a bunch of old women once we start to get off track even just a little! I was just trying to nip this at the bud. When I saw the [smilie=sign-offtopic.gif] I guess I didn't pay attention to how mad this guy looks. Perhaps I should've used the [smilie=sign-back2topic.gif] .
So what I'm proposing is maybe something like this: Each member can pledge to do one substantial thing besides paying their membership dues and enjoying some events. This can be a major contributing role in one of the events, or if really pressed for time maybe an extra donation if they can afford it, for example I thought it was great when a bunch of us stepped up to fund the aerator at Wolf Lake this year, and it helped ease my guilt since I'd been so lazy and selfish about giving more time to the cause.
And now look at the good discussion we could get out of this. Plenty of suggestions in this topic now.
