I'm just curious to see what everyones thoughts are of this bait. I know its new so probably nobody has experience with it, but it looks intriguing. Makes my wallet and wrists hurt just looking at the thing. Anybody plan on trying this bait this year?

It was $43 at the Chicago show this year and they dropped the price to $38 at Michigan Show. I've heard it pulls much much harder than any super model Cowgirl. Your gonna need some serious cranking power in a reel that wouldn't tire you out. Personally, for that price I'd rather spend my money on a custom paint job bait or something from a local baitmaker like guys in our club. I'm sure it creates so much damn vibration and should be a good nightime bait but I'm not gonna throw a bait like that just for the fact it's a pain in the ass and exhausting. I'm sure there are baits that cause just as much vibration at night and are much easier to throw… Hell, if you have any baitmaking abilities I'm sure you could make the exact same bait at a third of the cost. Or have someone who makes bucktails in our club make one for you. Maybe it's me but I was turned off by such a high price in a spinnerbait… Talk to Jeff (esoxfly). I bet he could make you one just like it and less money. If you need his number, let me know..
It doesn't look difficult to make so I am thinking about making one to see how the bait looks in the water. It will definitely be something different so it will be interesting to see how the fish react to it. I have heard it is a very good night bait and I am pretty excited to fish it in deeper water which I can't reach with normal bucktails.

Do you have a mold for spinnerbaits that big?

He doesn't "specialize" in spinnerbaits but he's always messing around making all kinds of crazy baits. He's always creating new stuff for fun and I'm sure he could make a "hurricaine" if he wanted to. Anyone that's good with bucktails probably could do it…
I bought one in Chicago and haven't thrown it yet but will try it out ASAP. Damn snow is back!

I am pretty sure it really isn't a spinnerbait and wouldn't need a mold to make. Just make a normal double ten bucktail, but leave a lot of extra wire on the top end. Then just make a little bend a 'I', a wrap at 'II', add some double 8s on clevises at 'III' and just tie off the end. I do know there is a large weight behind the double blades on the body, but I don't think it is molded to the shaft. If the weight is molded to the shaft then I would just make mine without it molded as it has nowhere to go.

I actually laughed out loud when I first saw this bait. The design is terrible.
