Hey thanks guys. I was wondering if anyone would read it or not. I hope it maybe gets a few guys out there trying it on a fly, but I ain't holding my breath. LOL
And I won't BS you and tell you fly fishing is more effective or even that it's fun all the time. It's for sure tough and often even more frustrating than conventional casting. But it does work. I've had a mediocre season this year…started out great, but then a long run of so-so fish in the boat and a good number of very nice fish LOST, mixed in with a three week slump and some broken gear (none broken on a fish) and I'm ready for this season to be over with!
But I did sorta salvage the season this week with a 52 on a fly and what may be my last LSC fish before I transfer next year. Only two weeks left in the season and I'll be out, but let's just say if it's raining or snowing, I'm staying home because I'm about burned out for the year! LOL

Very cool, Jeff. How neat to have a big ole picture of the Crazy Moon with you and your kid right there for eveybody to see in Musky Hunter. What a very nice article you wrote; thanks for the good tips and advice. It will be sad to have such conscientious boater and muskie fisherman leaving our Michigan waters, but I/we wish you the best. Congrats on the 52 – at just the right time!
Thanks everyone. It's been a rough season with ups and downs and this was a good way to "end" it…even though I'm still fishing, though now without any pressure on!
Not sure where I'm going yet…won't find out until after the new year, but hopefully heading back to Kodiak where I can do halibut on a fly again…which I almost consider easier than a muskie on a fly!
And thanks Matt….only 2 more 50's and about 4,000" of muskie on a fly before I can compare to you and your brothers…especially that one I fished next to today who's got a horseshoe permanantly embedded in his backside this season! He makes me sick…. [smilie=bow.gif]
