What do you think about how muskie fishing will be 100 years from now?

Alot more crowded.

How much has it changed in the last 100 years? Bait size and rod length of course, but there are limits. I think crowds and accessable water are the main differences you'll see. Internet doesn't help…

It is our job to protect and make the resource better for the generations to follow us.

Im not sure what will happen but if spearing muskies is still allowed in Michigan in 100 years I'm assuming my grandkids will have lost all faith in humanity.

Enjoy what ever muskie fishing you can as soon as you can. America won't exist 100 years from now under the new world order. Muskie fishing may not be permitted for the minimum wage slaves.

And I thought I was a pessimist, geesh.

I think the the fishing pressure thing will subside eventually. More and more people are musky fishing, but eventually due to increased pressure, lack of musky waters, and just how damn hard it can be to catch these fish many will give it up or move on to the next thing. I just hope that we can continue to have smaller, closer to home musky waters like we do now and it never becomes a sport where most of us have to travel 100+ miles to find a lake with muskies. Without these small local opportunities many of us would never have given muskies a second thought. Thats my only selfish fear of the GLS program. I believe (or hope) that slowly but surely the angling public will become more educated and more respectful towards the fish. Even though theres still a LONG way to go, just think about how far its come the last 20 years, or even just 10 years. But I also beleive that until the people in charge wake up and get their head out of their butts and shut down, or at least minimize spearing that it will never be much better than it is now.

Who knows, I am going to just enjoy what we do have for now, and whatever happens happens. The great thing about this wonderful state is there are so many other great opportunities for sportsmen if (god forbid) there are no muskies around anymore.

Muskies evolving to construct a series of breathing apparatus with kelp to trap certain amounts of oxygen and develop a system to establish a beach-head and aggressively hunt spear-chuckers and their families.

Need to be honest about the future. I've been with state staffers this week. Gov Snyder administration has several anti-muskie related and screw the sportsman bills going in legislature right now. The state natural resources and staffer morale are going down the crapper fast with the anti DNR-DEQ anti-hunt&fish bastards in control right now. DNR is pissed at present administration. Meanwhile, we've had a good walleye harvest from the ponds so far this week with more ponds to harvest next week. We got Hamlin Lake back on schedule for walleye Tuesday. Thus enjoy what ever muskie fishing you can as soon as you can.

How much time will they be able to stay on land? An hour? Hour and 45? That's enough time. [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Kingfisher's 2×6 lures may be a challenge to cast.

Matt I am assuming the Kelp technology was brought in when the Upper Mississippi fish started cross breeding with Bull sharks? I have long suspected such a plan was afoot one of my main reasons for being anti spearing. Its all about evolution and survival.

100 years from now my grandsons kids will asking the same questions and complaining about the same issues we are complaining about today. Only I doubt very much that they will have Wiener gate and Obama money. My guess is by then Fish and wild life will be given green status and we will all be living in Pelosi housing projects. I think the musky guys will still be calling the walleye guys crazy, and complaining about folks killing a musky while filling coolers with walleyes. 😯 😯 😯
