This is from another thread a while back but I think we can expand on this…
Some muskie facts:

Fact: Fast is good but so is slow and medium.
Fact: Big lures work, small lures work and medium lures work too.

Fact – When fishing for Muskie’s you can find fish both in and out of the weeds.
Fact – Muskie’s are usually found in the following depth ranges: deep, shallow and somewhere in between.

Fact – Will’s most common answer to a question – “Both” ie: You getting them on plastic or cranks – Both, Fast or Slow – Both, Shallow or Deep – Both, North or South end – Both
Let's hear your muskie facts…
Fact- When you start targeting big fish, you will catch/see less fish
Fact- You can't catch big fish if they simply aren't there.
Fact- Pre-frontal fishing can be very productive, yet there are great opportunities to be had on post frontal days as well.
Fact- As a rule of thumb, use bright colored lures on bright days, and dark colored lures on dark/overcast days. But don't be afraid to mix it up!
Fact (I know this one from personal experience)- You CAN run jump cables from + on 1 battery to – on the other. You CANNOT continue by using a 2nd cable from – to + and criss-cross. 🙄

Fact – you learn next to nothing by asking a muskie fisherman how to fish for muskies. All you get is double-talk, BS, disinformation, or uslessly vague "advice".
This is the most depressing of all these sad-but-trues!… You might just be asking the wrong muskie fishermen. Like you might be asking those that don't have a clue themselves!
Fact- Low light conditions make muskies move higher or shallower- sometimes.
Fact- Bright sun can make muskies more active- sometimes.
Fact- In clear water use natural colors, in stained water use bright guady colors.
Fact- In any clarity of water, any color can work.
Fact- In spring and fall, fish weeds that are green.
Fact- Dead/brown weeds hold fish too.
"Fact- The more you fish muskies, the less you "KNOW" about muskies!"
I think this is the most useful response so far, but it is not entirely accurate.
I would edit it to say…
"Fact – the more you learn about fishing for muskies the more you realize you don't know what you don't know."
This modification of words acknowledges some of us think we know current best practices but we also recognize those best practices will evolve/improve as we accumulate increased understanding.
Fact: These fish are maddening…
Fact: These fish CAN make you feel like you know something, but rarely do
Fact: Although these creatures don't have legs, they kick sand in your face often
Fact: These fish can make you want to quit fishing
Fact: Some things you can buy in the store and some things you can't
Fact: I need therapy, and fishing is not therapy
