stumbled onto this while trying to find places to stay up there. Thinking about heading up next summer (or somewhere else that is secluded yet has musky)

I wish I had a copy of this when I was out there. I was very tempted to go into lake george while I was there but wasn't sure about the logisitcs, and borders, and all of that kinda stuff.
has anyone on here fished lake george or nicolet before???
Thinking of exploring more next year and spending a lot of time cruising around.

Munuscong is on the top of my list of new places to fish next year so I will definitely be giving it a try at some point. This map is pretty awesome and should help out a ton. Nice find.

I can't wait to go up. I fished there when I was a kid living at home, but that was probably 20 years ago or more.

For a few years my "big trip" is going to have to be here in Michigan. (Hope to hit St Clair a few times next year too)

yes. It just about all looks good, and you could spend a lifetime cruising around and learning spots. Completely awesome experience though if you are not dead set on catching muskies.

Anyone spent much time up that way? It's been a long time for me, and to be honest I remember all 3 of us were thinking holy crap, where do you even start.

We stayed at the state forest campground just up the river. I'm interested in staying somewhere else.

Neebish Island Resort looks interesting.

$350/week seems REALLY cheap.

The other place up that way I found was Island View Resort

This one is more expensive but looks a little nicer, and has a shop with "good selection" of Musky lures.

And this one has a guide service but it looks like it is trolling.

Larry Ramsell likes to do his Fall Muskie hunting on the Saint Mary's. That should tell you something! [smilie=biggrin.gif]

Ya I noticed he mentioned that in an issue or two back of MHM. Even 20 years ago I remember stopping at a place and it being full of pictures of big muskies.

Is. View Resort is a nice place to stay. Has a gas station right there and a store with a little bit of everything. Plus Carl the owner, is nice guy.
