Thanks fellas- I actually find this lawyer stuff kindof interesting, except for the whole scum-sucking, conniving, dirty lying bastard, P.O.S. crook thing.Yeah as you can see the resolution thing is not going to accomplish anything. It is just a symbolic exercise I guess, and to go through some MUCC motions for the heck of it.
That, and there are 4 musky-related resolutions on MUCC's books already–all of them are pro-spearing statements.
Are these resolutions available for our viewing pleasure?

Hey Duke don't underestimate your efforts. MUCC has a history of introducing small step resolutions which over time lead to the final resolution of the real agenda. You had a chance to introduce a pro-musky non-spear science management base resolution, which may have moved the score to 4 spears and one save. At our MUCC district meeting last Wednesday we noted there were only 20 resolutions, far fewer than we are used too. We had time for more resolutions.

Well Duke managed to really upset the DNR by screwing off for the weekend instead of being at MUCC convention helping the DNR save MMA resolution #9. Darkhouse Holmes and all his cohorts had the floor to freely rip the MMA with every bit of misinformation possible. DNR had to put up listening to all the bs while MMA deserved what they got by their absence. DNR Kelly Smith and Jim Dexter sat helpless by rules they cannot speak pro/con at the mike. Jay Youngflesh MUCC Fish committee chair supported #9 after our earlier morning meeting agreement, but then there was no MMA there to back him up. After listening to Holmes's bs I finally got up as a Michigan Anglers Association delegate to help the DNR defend #9 for their need of #9 as a fishery management tool, ect. We manage to finally get resolution #9 tabled instead of totally defeated. DNR thanked me (MAA) for doing much as possible to help them, but no thanks to MMA for wasting everyone's time at MUCC. MMA can try and pick up the pieces later.

I hope you are just joking around, calling out Duke. Then again, knowing you, you probablyl aren't…… 🙄
I guess I'm supposed to be offended, but I'll pass. Thank you for your help at the convention.
Someday I might be part of the old, white, retired men's club and with nothing else to do will be able to make the convention. But as for now, I was not available this weekend, and Will was also booked. It did not help that the MUCC registration packet arrived 10 days before their deadline, which made it impossible to digest the info, learn the process, and try to line up someone else up to go.
When we submitted our resolution, no further information was provided to us about the process or about the convention. Nothing was said that attendance was required or even potentially useful, nor were we informed that there would be an open discussion and an opportunity to speak, nothing. The DNR already provided their comments and I was made to believe that was that- nothing more than a vote to follow.
Sure, I can take the blame. I got no problem standing up. But as far as your description of the events, I do have to consider the source and take it with a grain of salt. I am going to blindly trust MUCC and think that if something were that important, they would have made it clear and provided better support information to their clubs and especially those submitting resolutions.

I have to call BS on you Tom. While I was unhooking a black tip (I'm in FLORIDA) this afternoon Dexter called to talk about the resolution. He said that he and Kelly were not upset or even disappointed that MMA wasn't at the meeting. He said it was good how it played out and we will work with the DNR to re-word the resolution and get it through the next round.
