Hey guys, not sure if a lot of people are keeping up on this, but a law has been proposed in Minnesota which would stop the stocking of muskies into new lakes. This basically takes power from the DNR and gives it to legislators and lake associations. Feel free to check out the post on muskiefirst and contact the legislators in Minnesota to vote NO on this topic.

Two things come to mind: coming from a state that renamed Asian carp to invasive carp, because they feared their Asian population was offended by the connotations, I have little faith in their legislature as a whole. Also, if this means they have extra fish in their embarrassment of riches, I know where they can send them 😈
Seriously tho, it's a horribly written law by a lake association member, and is littered with bad ideas. Imagine not being able to introduce your most popular predator fish into a lake that needs assistance in that category… pretty short sighted idea for a selfish landowner in my book. And like you said, pushes management into the hands of the people not qualified to do so… kinda like our healthcare system [smilie=fear.gif]
