It's great to see some of the larger lakes in the LP and UP getting stocked. I'm truly ecited about this. More choices is always a good thing and will help spread out the musky fisherman once these bigger lakes like Hamlin, Ostego and Winyah are established. I still drive 1 hour 20 minutes to the nearest musky lake so there is not much of an opportunity for weekday, after work musky fishing. I hope some day that will change.

I like the idea of having more muskie fisheries sustained throughout the state with the 1 fish/acre idea. However, not all fisheries are created equal. Take Thornapple, or Hudson which have tons of forage. If there is only one fish stocked per acre, you may never come across a hungry fish while fishing. Osterhout, on the other hand, shouldn't be stocked with more than one fish per acre, because the forage isn't as abundant.

I do like the idea of spreading the muskies around more… even if it takes more time to find them when on the water!!!

This is the only time I'm going to take the Obama approach, spread the wealth! More for everyone @1/acre Not gonna get into any debate, Im just terribly excited to see lakes like Winya, Hamlin, and Otsego get going and maintained…..something about big water and muskies is exciting, always dreamed about sacrificing some of the smaller SW lakes to get Gun back on the radar, or GULL (such a beautiful lake) Even more excited about GLS though.
