Kid, Mike understands a bit what we have in our water 'spirits'.
Friday wife and I along with half the population of West Michigan went to Ford Field in Detroit. My wife and I are Muskegon Big Reds 1966 and our daughter is Montague wildcat as we now live in Montague. Many families are intermarried between the schools. In our truck pool of 6 there were 2 Whitehall, 2 Muskegon, 1 Ravenna, and 1 Oakridge player that had to return Sat for his game. We watched the Muskegon CC, Muskegon Big Reds and Montague Wildcat games as 1-2-3 games in a row. Wife and I had our Muskegon and Montague sweat shirts on and just rotated shirts staying in the same seats.
Not shown on TV was after the Big Reds took state title the whole team came back out on the field to mix with the Montague Wildcats during their warmup. What a huge impressive Red-Blue display of support. The Big Reds then change into their jerseys, took a section of the stadium, and stayed to cheer Montague on. Then Montague won state title and they too went out on field to do the same for Holland Christian team. The East side of state was stunned by our team supports. During the year we all play each other hard, but come playoffs we support each other well. There are far too many stories to pass on, but this story in the Free Press is one good example like movies are made of.

For me it was closure . The Wild Cats of my home town Montague have come close a dozen times. Beating teams like Schoolcraft, Only too lose to Inkster. The Cats have been there every year for the last 6 or 7 years. This year even though they lost a tough one to Oak Ridge They pull it together. Awsome job and hats off to all 4 schools.
