Menominee River during drawdown

So I'm headed up to Marinette for a week of work next week and I'll be fishing every day after work. Just wanted to get some info from anyone who has ever fished a river/resevoir during drawdown and if I should even bother fishing in the river or if I should just drive 40mins down to Suamico (very tempting based on last years results).

Word on the street is that the Core of Engineers are going to be taking the river down between the dams starting next week for inspection. I'm hoping it will only be down a foot or two by the time I get there. I'm actually working between the dams on the islands and that seems to hold an extremely healthy number of fish based on the stocking levels and 2012 fish surveys but I was wondering if the fish would be in a negative mood based on the drawdown.
