This was a pic from Jerry Sondag's facebook.

Opening wkend for muskies on LOTW, Description said this..

Mayfly raft – What hell looks like – Canadian musky opener yielded 20,000 casts – mile size rafts of dead mayflies – an early algae bloom – 5 follows and no fish. LOTW was humbling to say the least.

Even though they aren't dead flys i believe it is just the shells, but my god never seen it that bad up there.

Be thankful for the good water quality needed for the bioitic food web that provides the great muskie fishery at the top of the food chain. I wish we had a hex hatch like that in my area rivers and lakes. We only have a few isolated hex populations.

yea i agree with that, but to encounter if you book a trip for the first opening wk of muskie fishing would be hell like sondag wrote.. That would ruin anyone's trip flat out.
