I'm looking into getting a handheld GPS, probably the Lowrance H2O. I'm torn between Navionics and Lakemaster. I'm looking for some input on what I should get. They are both around the same price but I think you get more for your money with Navionics. Thanks

I have the Navionics Gold north. No complaints here. The little H-20 is a cool unit. I have one. It seems to hold position pretty well but the internal antenna will lose and re aquire position a lot. It really depends on how you set it(in a holder ) or not. I use it for hunting and lakes where I have to use a canoe. I have too add I like the bigger screens of the larger units way way more. For you main fishing boat the h=20 is not the way to go. I have the older 3500-c units on both of my boats and they just tear it up. Color screens with easy to read lines and symbols. The little hand helds are nice and compact but the small screens are not fun to me. Mike

I have the H2OC mounted in a RAM mount on my windshield and don't ever have problems with it losing lock, and I only have the internal antenna. It's almost always in WAAS mode with a EPE of 15 feet or so.

Yes they work best in a holder like the ram. Mike
