For $5 I couldn't pass up Kid's carp rod, salmon will never know that I only paid 5 for it.

Was the room really too small? It seemed OK but I got there 2 hours after it started.

I think it was just fine. It didn't seem too crammed.

Corey, you should have had Kid autograph it and you could put it up for auction and make $5.35 to $5.50!!!! 🙄

I heard the crowd thinned down pretty quick. It was a little tight in my opinion for a short while, but if some people kinda take off and dont close it down probably just fine.
-Keep in mind the guys that said it was fine weigh about a buck fifty
with 2 8oz lures in each hand.

[quote="Duke"]Thanks for putting it on and for keeping the pizza coming!! I had a great time.

Next year there's gonig to be a dollar limit on the pizza or we're going to make you buy your own. Two years in a row we've spent too much on pizza.

Seriously though… we'll have some type of fundraiser next year (raffle or something) to help offset what has become a large food bill.

I don't know what you mean by "spent too much on pizza"?… Never heard those words before, was there some left over or something??? No, I didn't think so.

ok ok, I'm just messin with you. That would be fine. But if you really wanted to save money you could just provide chicken salad or something![/i]

Why not just have everyone throw in $5 at the door for pizza. Another alternative would be to have everyone that is planning on attending the swap meet donate a lure(s) by Oct 15 for a pizza funnd raiser. These can be auctioned off before the event. The money will be stashed in the "pizza jar" which I personally think should be kept full. 😀

I don't mind spending up to $300 on a holiday party at all as long as no one complains that it would be money better spent on another project.

I never wanted to have a "cover charge" to fund the event but maybe we need to do that.

I would still like to have this benefit a charity in some way. Toys for Tots, Food Bank, etc.

I like the charity idea and we could collect the baits early (I volunteer to receive them) and then we could auction them (I volunteer Jim T.) and use the money for a good charity. As for the cost of the party I would say the people that show up can just kick in the money to cover it.

The money ultimately does come from ourselves though. I have a box full of donated lures that will get auctioned off sometime between now and the next lure swap. This money will go back into the club. Maybe not into a specific "pizza fund", but the money will be in the account.

[smilie=applause.gif] Good point! Many of the lures auctioned over the last year came from the swap. I'm sure that covered the cost of pizza.
