Just wondering why some of you use the Lunge Log, and why some of you choose not to? Do those who not use the Lunge Log keep accurate records of your catches for yourself? I know I'm going to start trying to keep my entries more detailed than I have been. I've been finding myself looking back at my older entries to remember what fish did during different circumstances.

When looking at this, keep in mind that not all MMA members are Muskies, Inc. members, we have many supporting members. WRT the LL, I looked over some info the other day and I'lll bet we have one of the highest participation levels (by percent of membership) of any chapter.

Until this year I have only been a supporting member. I did find a printable lunge log from the Ohio DNR site that I use for myself.

I thought we had over 300 members. Approximately how many are M Inc members? I only counted 29 users of the Log. Just seemed kind of low to me. I'm not bashing anyone for not using it. Was just curious.

We have about 200-ish members 100-ish of which are Muskies, Inc. members. If we're getting about 30% participation that is pretty good.

Just for fun, because you guys are always coming up with stuff I want to know for sure…
I took a quick look at the FRV chapter that has about 400 members and they had 58 people participate in the LL last year, that's about 14%. Then I took a quick look at WLMC which has about 200 members (all are M.I. members) and they had 31 members participate, about 15%.

*A H E M *

I have 228 names in the member database, of which 142 are currently paid up.

Of the 142, 108 are MInc members. The rest are Supporting.

I knew I could count on you to remind me how out of touch I am with that information. BTW – We need to get those lost members back!!!

So, Jim… we have about 26% participation which is pretty high compared to others.

Thanks, Tom! Thanks, Will! It's great to see a high % of participation.

But I AM still wondering… why do some use it, and others don't? Will? Tom? Why have you guys used the Lunge Log? Is it for convenience of storing your info? Is it for the competition to beat Pete? [smilie=brows.gif]

I want to see what other people are catching and I think it is only fair that I log my fish too. I also like to compete with people and see if I can get into the top 20 and/or beat my rank from last year. If we don't compete how do we know who wins??? ha

What is the difference between a registered user and a member? Also why don't you have people fill out there info like where they live and stuff. If I was going out fishing by myself and I know that someone is close, I could ask them if they wanted to go.

We're ALL members of MMA.

Not all MMA members are Muskies Inc. members, though. We call those that aren't, "MMA Supporting Members". The membership dues are the same for both types of membership, but MMA Supporting Member dues all stay here in Michigan. In contrast, when you join MMA as a Muskies Inc. member, part of your dues go to the Muskies Inc. national organization, and MMA only gets to keep part of it to help the fishery here in MI.

As far as MMA is concerned, there's absolutely no difference in how the two types of memberships are treated. But MMA Supporting Members do not have access to the Muskies Inc. Lunge Log, and don't get the calendar or Muskie Magazine.

Clear as mud, right?

Why don't we create a section for our own Lunge Log that way the supporting members can participate and maybe have a little in house competition?

Yep. All paid-up MMA members have full access to all the Forums.

Easy to say; hard to do! I don't have what it takes to "make it so"…

What you are saying is a registered user is the same as a member. If this is right we have 333 members or is this one of those apple & oranges things?

Only 142 active members right now; 108 are MInc members and the other 34 are MMA Supporting Members. The other names I have are for people who used to be members, but aren't paid up right now.

So, does your Granma wanna join? [smilie=biggrin.gif]

The Lunge Log is where you record all your catches 30" and up. You record date and time, weather and water conditions, bait all kinds of stuff like that. So when you get CRS, you'll say I remember that now!!

Hemi, do you want my Grama to go out in the boat and spank you and I don't mean dropping your drawers and taking you over here knee! 🙄
