I plan on taking my brother out on Lsc on 6/6 for only my 2nd time casting out there. ( I usually troll ) I'm looking for a good starting point somewhere on the north end. Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for anybody's spots. It's just that there's an awful lot of water out there to go looking for the needle in a haystack. I have a 16ft. alum w/25 HP if that helps. Like I said, just looking for a good starting point. Thanks fellas.

It should be against the law to use the term "needle in a haystack" in regards to "Lake St. Clair". Brother, you have no idea… 😀
Just messin with ya, but I am fresh off from a couple tough trips up north and worn a little ragged! Good luck
Well, ok, I guess I'm not "clueless" to what the potential is out there just about ANYWHERE on the lake. The one day I did get out there to cast it was a little breezy and there was lots of big boat traffic. Warm June day on a weekend. I fished mostly the selfridge area. Caught some bass and had one blow up on a rippin shad that was a small ski or Pike that did not make it to the boat. I'm just looking to launch out of a more suitable area for my boat without wasting my time driving not knowing what's in store for me. I've gotten some suggestions pm'd to me. It's all good brotha!
Sorry, that's not what I meant
Trust me I don't know any more about LSC than you. Yes the lake is huge and intimidating, but like all of Will's great advice there, just break it down into small chunks to fish on a given day's wind & travel, and you will do fine. What I meant is that yes it is a huge haystack, but there are LOTS of needles in it. Other haystacks may not be quite so huge, but they have a far far lower needle to hay ratio!!
Sorry gentleman. I guess I should have just asked if it was worth the time/drive to the northeast launches. I have already seen the Clinton river/Selfridge side. I know what that area is like with some wind and boat traffic. I was wondering about the eastern side. No big deal as I have found Animal Chin! Thanks. By the way, I'd be highly surprised if anyone knows the Animal chin reference!

Amen Duke, Rick, you should try casting the shorelines around Peach Island and Fighting Island, Mud Island. There is a nice weed line near the Bridge by just down river from Peach Island. OOPS I let that one slip. Mike [smilie=2thumbsup.gif]
Peche Island not Peach. Peche is French for fishing/fish.
