Preparations are under way for this multiple day outing. We are hoping for a good turnout this year. There will be a get together at Shorts Brewery Friday night around 8:30, and also a cookout Saturday around 2:00pm at the river house in Rapid City. Gordon Day has offered up his rental house on the Rapid River for the outing dates in support of our organization. The river is to shallow to access the dock so trailering to and from lakes is the only option here. This house will hold 10-12 people, numerous beds, bunks, and couches. If we need more capacity, the Loons Nest Guesthouse on Clam Lake has been reserved as well. They have a dock for up to three boats. ** you do not have permission to see this link **. loonsnestguesthouse.com/

Camping is available at the Whitewater Township Park on the southwest shore of Elk Lake for those who chose. <url url="[Permission to view this media is denied]

With the outing dates coming up shortly I'd like to get an idea of how many are coming. I've only heard from a few of you that are planning to attend so far, and am hopeful there will be more. There is still lots of room for lodging. If you are planning to attend the cookout or need lodging please let me know.

I am planning on coming up now, but will probably be able to make Friday-Sunday only. Definitely be a nice opportunity to hit a bunch of lakes up there in that time frame.

I would like to go but cannot get the days off. Maybe we could schedule these outtings a little further out so those of us who have to put in for vacation days before January 1st can get some off. Just a suggestion. I know we have a lot of people to work around to make these happen. Good luck everyone and be safe

The 2014 outing schedule was posted by Jim on Sat Mar 01, 2014 8:23 am.

Edit… Guess I didn't finish that thought – sorry. The goal most years is to have the dates set by October to have the dates in the holiday issue if the newletter.

Anyone know where to view a good map of these lakes online? I know the DNR site has them, but looking for something more detailed. Looked at the Fishing Hot Spots website and they don't appear to sell maps for those lakes.

I don't got the vacation time to get up there during week this year but I am going to try to make it up Friday night after work to fish the weekend.

I might have a open spot in my boat if he can't make it up.

I have family very close I'll be there I've saved the vacation time to go. If anyone is strapped for money and are worried about lodging call me 269-209-7526 it's not a hotel but I can accommodate I only ask for honesty and respect my girlfriends family is clustered there I'm 5 minutes away from most lower lake chained lakes. Her grandma has a lot of space and I'm sure it won't be a problem. Very family oriented and I'm family! Puts me close to the rest of the water as well, hopefully I have my own boat to bring too! My father bought a 19 ft Starcraft with a 90 hp on the back. It leaks somewhat badly not sure from where but I'm working on it. Need a trolling motor w/ a foot pedal that I'm confident in… Will is yours still for sale?? 🙂
