I like the Lowe boats, especially the newer FS and FM models. A good friend of mine fishes out of a new FM 165, nice ride, all welded hull. New or used? How much do you want to spend? I believe Brunswick Co. is the parent company of Lund, Crestliner, and Lowe? I've been researching and comparing the FS / FM 175 up against crestiler, alumnacraft, Lund, and others.

If I could buy a new boat would probably be a 17ft, plus the new boats are wider. As far as a engine I've heard alot of good things about the E-Techs, 2 stroke that runs like a 4.

Which one are you looking at? On line they show 3 different models.

That's a killer rig fo sho! Not much of a rear casting deck tho…..something to look for as a Muskie guy. I'm sure an extension could be built/added easily tho! Check out that new Merc 150 4stroke…..it's a beast!

I was told by quite a few when I was ordering my boat to get a tiller! I got a side console instead, and for the most part I like it. If it were a muskie only boat a tiller it would be, but I do use it for family recreation, and other types of fishing so the side console was the thing for me. The walk thru for muskie fishing would be my last choice, simply because it makes it too hard to fish 3 people with the console on the side. as it is I find myself only fishing one direction because of the console already, that is the direction where I can cast out the left side of the boat!
I don't think you can really go wrong with any of the manufactures, there is a difference in quality that is generally associated with difference in cost, but for the most part its overkill. Most of the difference I have seen is in little things like fit and finish, and quality of hardware… none of which make it fish any better 🙄 Sure some are more comfortable thru big water, and some are a drier ride, but I personally let it come down to who had the layout with storage/livewell options I wanted.

Like vano said, all of the rest is "fit and finish." Personal preferences, taking into consideration on how, where, when, you fish. If I were fishing in that area I'd probably opt for the WT. As mentioned the stern casting space is weak, I would definately choose the rear conversion bench seating. I love these things, it turns them from family cruisers to a serious spacious rear casting deck probably big enough for two…..Yes the SC will offer up a bit more space in the middle and bow casting, but its a nice trade off for trolling in October / November under and warm dry canopy attached, runnning back in 4 footers, shade, wind, women, family, etc….jealous. Seriously consider that rear jump/conversion bench seating.

Yea convertible rear seat for sure. I really like both layouts but it would be nice to have the walk through on those real nasty days. I don't ever plan on fishing more than two guys out of it so I'm kinda leaning towards the WT.
Thanks for the input guys.
