RIP to a great motor, so I'm told by the service people. My 1999 Evinrude 40HP 4-Stroke (made by Suzuki) performed its last stroke on Diane a while back. 20 years and countless hundreds hours of flawless performance with little maintenance, I can't complain but it feels kinda' like a good friend of mine just got a terminal diagnosis.

Looks tough to find a lightly used motor replacement so far, and a new one is worth more than the whole boat package even if the motor worked. But the boat itself, and carefully upgraded accessories, and even the trailer despite its wear and tear, should have a lot of life left.

So with online searching looking bleak (most of these stay with their boats understandably), asking Team MMA for any suggestions, including if any place may offer something for the broken motor to use toward a replacement (my local place not into that it seems). Since I almost entirely putz around on small lakes I'm not against a 30 or 35 HP for the 16' boat, really want to stick with a 4-Stroke though. So basically a good condition 30-40HP 4-Stroke is what I'm after.
