I'll be out fishing LSC tomorrow with my father. He's never caught a muskie and I'd love to get him a fish. I'll be launching out of Selfridge and I've fished Anchor Bay but looking for other good area's that I should focus my time. Any idea's? Anyone having any luck? I'll probably focus on Grass Island and the channels but any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

Was out with Jim T. on 6/10 and launched out of Selfridge. We fished a few spots and had some follows in areas with thick weeds. Could not find as many weeds as I expected and after casting for hours we tried some trolling. Jim ended up catching one on a pikie in the prop wash about 30' back from the boat.
We were in about 8' of water (maybe 400 yards out in front of the Air force base) and I had a big hit on a Slasher but lost the fish and then Jim caught a fish on the pikie and our baits were about 2' down.
Most of the castng follows were on Bulldawgs and I had one on a DCG but they were pretty lazy follows. I don't typically troll but it did work for us and good luck!

Well, from the looks of things, we need Will to tell us where the fish are! 😀 I can tell you where they WEREN'T, tho. Grass Island was one of the places. We didn't beat it all that hard seeing as the weed growth was minimal to zilch. When we started the day, we found fish in weeds, so tried to stay with weed beds to up our chances.

I was actually only about 10' behind the boat, Ed. That's what made it so exciting! Most of the time, I could see the lure darting around in the wash, but of course the muskie had to hit during the ONE 5 second span where I wasn't looking at it.
Thanks guys! I really appreciate it! These fish can make you second guess strategy and lately I'm scrambling trying to decide location and bait selection. I'm sure you've all been there when half way through the day your literally switching baits every couple casts. Thanks a lot and I'll keep you posted.

If you get sick of casting, troll the weeds in a depth (8-10'), where you can run baits just above the weeds, maybe 3-4 feet down. Fish all the same areas mentioned.
You will catch fish either casting or trolling in these areas this time of year…
