Very cool! No disrespect, but it always makes me laugh to look at holds from non-musky guys lol.

It's just funny how they pick the most awkward arm/hand positions on the holds. It is understandable how they don't know how to hold one, but what would make this guy think having his arm way up in the air is the way to go. I've seen a couple guys holding muskies with arms crossed and I'm just baffled as that cannot be comfortable at all for the holder

I've seen Bucher hold a fish with his arms crossed. I won't post my brothers 47" because of the hold he has. I think it's what it would look like if those guys don't cross their arms. Well, another reason I won't post my brothers pic is because he had his shirt off and I don't think anybody wants to see his big, fat, hairy belly! lol [smilie=puke.gif]

Even though that fish isn't that long he said it weighed 30 lbs, although i don't think that fish is 30lbs at all..

Even my dad who never fishes musky with me other than canada said he wants to try out by the rock piles in the channel this fall.. Might have to try it at some point

This lake is a drowned river mouth, so it could potentially be home to a rogue lake michigan muskie, just like all the others up the coast of western michigan, but it was planted in like '97 with northern strain, so the probability is that its a northern strain… although I do agree with Jim, it does kinda look spotted.

I've been out there a couple times the past week trolling muskie crankbaits with no love from the muskie, though I have picked up a few Kings!

Keep in mind that the home water body can have a dramatic effect on the coloration and pattern of a muskie. The same "northern" muskie that would be barred, or clear of marks and dark colored in a fertile lake (brown stained, weedy, shallow) could be light colored and spotted in a more sterile lake (clear, deep, or clay muddy water strangely enough. Unfortunately the marking pattern and color alone cannot be used to 'type' a musky into its ancestry or strain, they can be quite variable depending on the individual fish, the environment they're in, and definitely their family tree/origin.
