I'm going to Lake Hudson this Sunday and this lake hates me. If anyone has any ideas on location or tactics please let me know. Half of the day I will be taking kids out so if you have any pan fishing tips those would be appreciated.

Hudson depends a great deal on water temp and water clarity. Once the lake gets over 70 degrees they start to move to deeper areas in the middle of the lake during the day. I find them in 15 feet of water off the swimming beach a lot from June to August. Steve and I got a real nice fish trolling an olive frog Stubby in 15 feet when water temps were 76. Michelle and I have always done well out in the middle of the lake after June 1st. Water temps should still be cool enough right now to find them in or close to weeds . The more stained the water the better you will do in bright conditions. I find this lake is great on blue bird days trolling the edges or open water. If temps are below 65 you may still find fish in the back water in 3 to 6 feet all day long. Look for wood and yu will find crappies that will take small jigs and or minnows under bobbers. Cats and bull heads on the bottom at night. Hope this helps. Mike

Look for the hump off the west shore of the campground. Use your sonar to find the crappies suspended in the deep water around it. Good luck.

Headed out to Hudson on Sundsy myself. Been skunked many times on this lake so I'm in the same boat!

My wife has decided that she loves Lake Hudson and she does not believe that it was built over an Indian burial ground and that truly is an evil place. We are heading back tomorrow and I may try to catch some muskies (LOL) and if anyone has any suggestions please post them.

If you have the chance to fish for skis without kids, troll while sipping your favorite adult beverage. Forget about what a b*@%h Hudson can be. Forget about these stupid fish even. Just enjoy your surroundings and the company you're with. You never know, Musky Mel may reward you. Good luck!
