It's never a mistake to fish any lake…as long as it has muskies! I've even been to known to fish lakes that were rumored to, but probably didn't ever, have the beast present…and I also don't mind fishing lakes that have nothing but 2 year old 20-somethings, so maybe I'm not the one to take advice from! Just be prepared for turbid water at Diane if you do head there, and fish in the mid-30" range.
