I got a buddy who loves Huma's. There a little too "hoppy" for me. We always joke that time stands still everytime he drinks them because he loses complete track of time and always thinks its much later than it is. Plus his speech and everything slow way down.

My own favorite changes all the time. Currently its this:

I'm sorry Ryan, but wheat has no business being in something called "beer".

And I've had Huma Lupa, and it's very good, but doesn't hold a candle to HopSlam. Plus it sounds too much like the little men in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Oompa Loompas. 🙄

I might be drawn to it because it reminds me of an Oompa Loompa… or maybe it's because after three I'm singing Oompa Loompa songs. 😀

This one is good too and the three we've got here are my 1, 2, 3 favorites.

I also really like the Wizzard up at Pearl's in Elk Rapids, which is based off the Magician.

Yum!

Damn I'm getting thirsty! I have been drinking the Bellaire Brown this past year but it looks like I'll have to mix in a few other Short's varieties. There's a convenience store here in Spring Lake that let's you mix and match so I might just have to see if I can get one of each of the flavors already mentioned here.

Across the bay on the penninsula there is more than just wine (although I usually sample on the way)….Jolly Pumpkin Brewery @ the Old Bower's Harbor Inn. Match this little girl up with some smoked white fish dip.

Usually I am not as big into wheat beers, but this one has got me hooked recently. The only rules I live by with beer are no fruit in beer, or fruit themed beer. And unless I'm going cheap or they are free I stay away from domestic "light" beers, if you can even call them "beer".

I'm also a HUGE fan of Founders in Grand Rapids. My uncle is the asst. brewmaster there so I get free beer anytime I go there, or anytime we have a family get together.

Maybe we should have a poll for "hoppe" beer lovers. What the hell, until the ice melts I'm just twiddling my thumbs, getting thirsty. Its sounds like we have a some guys who can enjoy quality beer, and I'm no exception. I haven't tried hopslam or huma lupa yet, but I will.
I was always a big fan of DOCS that was brewed by The Big Buck Brewery in Gaylord. It was an intense hops taste with a slight bitter hint. I don't even know if they make it anymore. Geeez way to go guys, now I'm depressed and thirsty!

HAHAHA we have exact opposite tastes in beer. I have never heard of any of these beers in the post, I hate Founders, and I love Coronas/Bud Light/Bud Light Lime. Ryan, do you go to HopCat at all?

I'm surprised you left Milwaukee's Best off that list. You can add your favorite wine cooler or Mikes lemonade too if you want… [smilie=fear.gif]

Just messin w/ you J – real beer isn't for everyone.

I did forget Smirnoff ice and Zima [smilie=biggrin.gif] I've just never really had the 'real' stuff and simply love Coronas too much to switch. The MMA outing at the Antrim Chain might be a good time for me to try some of these 'real' beers.

Book it, we're all going to Shorts afterwords. It will be the cap to a sweet day.
