Do you guys prefer the standard cutters or the spring loaded?

I would imagine the spring loaded ones cut the bigger hooks easier?

I like the spring loaded cutters and I have the standard one and the angled one. If you get on Chad's toolbox email list sometimes they go on sale or you can get a 10 percent off coupon. I would look on ebay as well and I take an old DC phone cord and cut off the plug and tape the cord to the tool and then make a loop at the other end for my wrist. Dropping the cutters in the lake really sucks…

+1 on what Ed said.

I don't think the spring has any effect on how it cuts hooks. Either style is equally good cutting.
