Oh im sure they are made in china…sadly what isnt anymore. As far as abusing cabelas warranty, i was honest and upfront about what had happend. I actualy brought the rods back to see if they could be repaired by the fly fishing department as the breaks were clean and within an inch of the tip. I had previously had this done on a spinning rod i closed in my tailgate. I was informed they could add a new tip or replace the rods outright…my call. I chose the new rods and the old got fixed and went to bargin cave…where i purchased them about two months later. I see no abuse there and honestly dont apreciate being of acused of it. I didnt raise hell to get that result, thats just what they offered me. It has been cableas policy in the past to guarantee satisfaction for as long as you own the product. That may well have changed, but breaking a rod on the hookset as previously mentioned would surely mean i wasnt satisfied. I never intended to say these rods where the end all be all, but simply a good solid rod and a heck of a deal at half price. Didnt mean to ruffle any feathers, so forgive me if i did.

[smilie=bangtard.gif] I'm sorry, wasn't trying to accuse you personally of anything. I have done the same thing, with the same results, with Cabela's.
Just have seen Cabela's extremely good customer service abused many times. That's why I brought up the example. Frankly, I don't know how they can keep it up.

No worries [smilie=2thumbsup.gif] Ive seen examples of the same thing. I think the only reason they can keep it up is because they sell the stuff in the bargin cave at a later date to help cover the losss. Thats all i can think of anyways. But i have had such luck with their customer service, i buy alot of stuff there.

Yep, according to their web site: "Handcrafted in the U.S.A." Plus, a 5-year warranty helps, too.
Not all are hand crafted in the USA. The new Triumph series is made in China.
