Hey guys, very sorry late notice here, but we'll be having our monthly meeting tomorrow evening at 7 pm. We will be doing a very short business meeting, then will be joined by Addie Dutton, fisheries biologist, who will give an uodate and answer questions about sanford and wixom. Sorry again for the late notice. Usual suspects, minus a couple in attendance.
Addie had some good info, they're working on/done with mussel surveys on the titt chain and also fish surveys and fish kills. If I recall she said no muskies were found dead, and only one large pike. Most were likely given a free ride to the bay, but muskies have been caught in the river near sanford since, so not a complete loss… She asked for advice in her management zone for potential new waters to replace those that are lost, and basically is canceling all future stockings in the titt chain until it is reestablished and can reevaluate.
Look for updates on outings and the Bruce in the next newsletter. We can tentatively get back to our schedule, starting with the august outing on the chain.
