Hey i know a few of you have some jon boats. I have a Tracker grizzly 15' with two boxes in the stern corners. The problem is the boxes are few inches lower than the side so a track system would have to have a tall riser to get over the side. Clamp ons tough enough?? Anyone have suggestions for rod holders?

How long it the outer arm on those?

I wonder if they will fit. The grizzly I have has a round edge on the outside & inside so I have had a problem with clamp styles as they have a hard time clamping on the outer round edge. Anyone have this experience??? Thanks for the help!

I was using a cabelas that had a V on the clamp that fit around the round part, but they are plastic and I don't trust them for a muskie.

Call or email Down-East Sportscraft in Lewiston Maine and ask them. They're really nice people.

If you get a 1/2" thick (or whatever you need) piece of aluminum bar, or even treated wood, you can put itbetween the fixed side of the clamp and the hull. That spacer should get the frame far enough away from the rounded edge to allow you to stradle evenly on both sides. Does that make sense?

Yes, it does make sense.

Like this, where the red rectangle represents one of the wood or Al blocks, which you may need on both sides of the gunnel. They don't have to be permanent, just clamped on when you mount the rod holders. You could even use some thick rubber between them and the hull to keep your boat from getting all scratched up, if necessary.
