No safer barriers there, all concrete. That vid doesnt really seem
to show how fast he went into the wall. Those supers are some
of the fastest short track cars in the world. I bet they were still
doing 90mph through the turn. He must have been knocked silly
because he made no attempt to get out of that burning car. We
we sitting right over there and you could see he was kinda slumped
over. I thought he was killed. These cars can be life takers.
They try to keep all the weight to the left side for better handling
through the turns. And I know you see those huge wings.=downforce.
They make around 800-850 hp and weigh around 1,900 lbs. Methenal
injected 468 cubic inch. They are really works of art.
To build a competitive super your talking around $100,000!
Most of the top dogs have engines that are $50,000 alone!
Alot of them dont have nearly that kind of money into it
but they are 1/2 second slower also. For every 1 bad boy,
ya get like 5 not so bad boys. I knew there were only like
4 cars capible of winning that night. JB was one of them.
The guy that did win has dominated for like the last 4 or 5
