Its about that time I start getting annoyed with the ice and get the itch. Jim posting pictures doesn't help my cause.

Does the Webster lake chapter have a date set for the ice out challunge yet? Anyone planning on making the trip?

The dates are 3/22 with 3/29 being the alternate date if there is still ice.

They have ice in New Orleans. 15 degrees there. Atlanta is ground to a halt. Geeze it's like they never saw a snowflake. As for the Ice out it always seems to happen. Its always cold and wet. Sometimes it snows. I used to get all geeked up about it but now???????? he he he he . Im older and smarter. I save the few bucks I have allocated for fishing for the days when catching these critters is a bit easier. Im sure Ill be passing on that trip but you young guys have at it. Anyone know if there is an alternate to the alternate date for this? Open water by the end of March is looking less and less likely every day…

Yesterday Mike Hulbert got a response on facebook that Indiana lakes had 18 to 20 inches of ice as of yesterday.

He's asking if there is another alternate after the 29th date just in case there is ice on the 29th.

Jim, any more info on ice reports down there? I see today it is a high of 53 down there with some good wind and it is the same tomorrow. Then a couple cold days in a row and then it looks like it is above freezing the rest of the way. My anxiety is causing optimism.

They Are Having A BOD Meeting Later This Week. There Is Talk About Moving The Date To The 29Th With The Alternate As April 5Th!
They Are Supposed To Get 8-10" Tuesday Into Wednesday… 😯

I think this storm tomorrow is the last one of the winter…weather says its back up to 50 on Friday. I am sure the 3/22 date isn't happening but maybe the 29th will work out. Let me know when you hear more Jim. Thanks.

Chae just posted on facebook, "The ice out challunge has been moved to April 5th hopefully the weather warms up and the ice melts or we may have to cancle this year."

So I took work off on the 29th and of course it gets moved to the 5th when I have to work…
The good thing is I don't work the 3rd or 4th so I will probably go down and fish one, or both, of those days and should have a decent fishing report for those fishing the IOC.

No updates on their facebook page for canceling it yet so I assume it is still on for April 5. Maybe Jim can shoot Chae a text in the next couple of days to see if there is an update.

With the weather the last couple days it has likely been making more ice. I'm really hoping for a lot of warm rain before then.
