A love affair. I've fallen hard. I know I'm not supposed to covet, but she's SOOOOO beautiful!

It's going to be a little longer than that for me unfortunately. Wife says I have to at least wait until the house & truck are paid off. Only a little over 6 years to go….. Hopefully my rig will hold up until then.

That's the biggest issue for as well. Convincing the wifey is no easy task! My main focus points are safety, dependability and peace of mind out on LSC. My best one is explaining how much better the equipment is on a new boat which in return will increase my odds of catching fish faster so I won't need to spend as much time on the water as I do now with a much older boat! Ha! I'm so bad! I'm pulling out every possible reason!

When you get serious don't overlook this ride, IMO it's the perfect muskie boat (all applications).

Saw these at the Chicago Musky show and they looked great and they focus on musky guys.

The only comparable design was the Ranger 690 but they discontinued that boat. The X-190 is big enough for big water, small enough for puddles and could be slightly underpowered w/ a 4-stroke if you didn't want to add a kicker to troll.

I have a fiberglass now, and sometimes, it's just too dang heavy. The nose of that Tracker looked to be up pretty high, enough to take some of the big swells of LSC. I know the guys on M-1 are always talking up those Tuffy's though. They look to be a sweet boat. I'd like to see both in person for a comparison. (And don't forget… Pete endorses the Trackers! Jim, alot of the boats you see in MN. & WI, are Tuffys and they are good boats.

That Tundra isn't really any lighter than a comparable size glass boat. BTW – Pete used to endorse Tuffy before the Next Bite deal.

Jim, I think if you really want a boat for LSC a glass boat is the way to go. I have fished in alot of rough conditions out of my little Lund, way to many repairs on the hull and rivets. Glass boats do crack but not very likely unless you are a real maniac or hit some rocks. That Tuffy would be sweet anywhere, I would think the only concern would be spearing a wave on occasion.

My concern is how much time I spend out on LSC. Within minutes that lake can change from glass to nasty 3-4fts waves. It seems as if the longer the boat (20ft or more) the more safe the ride. My 20.5ft Deep V sometimes seems small when crossing main lake in rough weather. I avoid 20mph winds but sometimes weather changes and will most likely look at min. of 20ft. I've been collecting brochures of all sorts of boats I'm interested in and I the Tuffy catalog. It's a very nice boat made for exactly what we do. I'll probably have to look at a fish and ski since as a family we spend lots of time on the water. I love the Ranger Reata 2050. Same hull and beam as the 620. The problem is that model is fairly new so it's hard to find a good deal on that boat. 95% of my fishing will be spent on LSC. I wish Stratos still made the 2006 21msx. It's almost exactly like the Ranger 620 and good boat. I'd like to also see that Tuffy close up.

I don't think there is a Tuffy dealer in Michigan? That would be my only concern in buying one, if you did have a problem you have make a trip out of state and probably spend a couple extra days there musky fishing.

I know. Of course it would be a great excuse to get away for a few days but not having a dealer in-state would be a little tough. I'm leaning towards Ranger.

BINGO!

I looked hard at Tuffy's before buying both my Triton, and my Ranger. If you are buying used and the boat is out of warranty, no big deal and anyone can service the boat. However, if you have a warranty, you will need to pull it out of state for service.

IMOHO, this is a serious driver towards purchasing something sold and serviced locally.

i have a tuffy even though its incredibly old, but ive always like those boats and whenever i finally find a real job related to my degree and start making real money, i will eventually get a tuffy. They designed these boats from the very first one in 1980 with Musky fisherman in mind, thats what i like about them.
