Ok. With Seasonally low temperatures about to hit the Midwest this weekend I'm feeling pretty iffy about the chances that there will be open water on the 16th.Anybody have contacts in Indiana or know just how much Ice is on the lakes down there?
I texted Chae, and he said it's starting to come off slightly. He's confident it'll be off in time. This happens every year. (except last year I think). Everybody is always freakin' out that it's not going to happen. I don't think they ever had to use the alternate date…

Yes but it moved up a week this year. Weather looks good for the week before.
Come on Solar Radiation and Greenhouse Gasses! Work your magic!
One last question guys. I plan on fishing Friday and Sunday. Anyone know off the top of their head if it's worth it to fish suckers and what the policy is for taking (Store Bought) Suckers over the border?
If not I'll do a regulations search and figure it out myself.

Hey Fellas,My buddy Pete and I are planning on fishing the Ice-Out. Is there a date they use to make the decision to postpone tourney?
It would be the next week. The 23rd. Yes, make sure Pete comes along again, so we can win again! Good to hear from you Mark. [smilie=2thumbsup.gif]

I think he was asking if there is a cut-off day they have to decide by to postpone it or now. As in, do they have to decide by the 12th to postpone it to help people out with work, travel, etc. It would stink to take that weekend off work and then have the tourney postponed. Dang, he beat me to it…
Exactly!
Well from now until the tourney next weekend it will be above freezing and up into the 40s and even low 50s over the next several days. Sunday is supposed to be a high of 52 and rainy down there so hopefully that will be the last straw for the ice and we will be good to go. It better be cause I dont think I can wait any longer to get back on the water…

It isn't going to take much. Webster is 1/2 open already.
That's good to hear! I'm dying to get back to chasing muskies even if it is in Indiana. The browns, lakers, and steelies are biting real well off the pier right now which has helped keep me sane the last couple weeks, but that still doesn't stop me from thinking about muskies 24/7.
